Ellesmere Park Expansion Project 2025/2026

CONSULTATION ON A PROPOSED EXPANSION OF ELLESMERE PARK HIGH SCHOOL

Consilium Academies is undertaking a consultation on its intention to expand Ellesmere Park High School. This will be achieved by increasing the size of the school building to include new classrooms and supporting facilities. This expansion is required to meet local demand for student places from September 2025 onwards. This proposal aligns with our commitment to providing high-quality education to a greater number of students in response to the needs of our communities.

The Proposal

The project will permanently increase the capacity of the school by 150 places over the next two academic years. This will be a phased project which will expand the building to provide the necessary accommodation and will complete in September 2027.

As Ellesmere Park High School is an academy, the expansion proposal would need approval by the Department for Education (DfE). We are therefore seeking the views of stakeholders through this consultation to inform the DfE’s decision making process on the following:

• The expansion of the school building to meet the needs of an additional 150 students.

The Consultation Process

The consultation period on this proposal is from Monday 13th January 2025 to Monday 3rd February 2025 and we invite you to take part:

Next steps

Following the consultation period, a report summarising the feedback will be reviewed by Consilium Academies Trustees, which will decide on proceeding with the expansion. Subsequently, applications for the necessary changes with the DfE will be made and the outcomes will be shared with stakeholders as appropriate.
