Ellesmere Park Wins Big at Consilium Awards

Students and staff from Ellesmere Park were delighted to attend the Consilium Academies awards ceremony on Friday the 13th of October at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.

 

The multi-academy trust, which is made up of nine academies, first held the awards back in 2021 and they were created so the trust can ensure that inspiring students and staff receive the recognition they deserve.  The awards evening was a huge success with six categories of awards being handed out based on the Consilium Charter.  The categories were:

 

  • Equity
  • Excellence
  • Integrity
  • Opportunity
  • Partnership
  • People-Centred

 

Ellesmere Park's Assistant Head Teacher: SENDCO Kat Barton was the staff winner of the Equity award due to her warm and kind personality and her dedication to the education and well-being of her students.

Andrea St John, Deputy Head Teacher said:

'Kat is the hardest working woman in education! Ellesmere has a large proportion of children who are SEND and Kat works tirelessly to ensure they attend all lessons and thrive amongst their peers to ensure equity and true inclusivity achieve the best possible and enter a world of work where they can thrive.  She leaves no stone un turned when working with external agencies in order to fight for what is truly the right to a fulfilling education for all children in her care. Since 2020 SEND provision has transformed at Ellesmere with out Kat at the forefront of making lives better.'

Eilidh Stuart was another success story for Ellesmere Park, as she was awarded the student award for Excellence. When her teachers were asked they said:

'Eilidh always strives to be her best regardless of the subject. She has an excellent attitude to school and tackles every task with determination.'

'Eilidh tackles tasks with the head of a CEO, the heart of Emmaline Pankhurst and the fervour of Delacroix! She’s one in a million, an inspiration, is kind, confident fair, creative, a leader though and through.'

The evening was brought alive by a vibrant fusion of musical talents. The Ellesmere Park band, led by Danny McNamee,  delivered captivating performances, setting the stage for an incredible evening. 

The evening was a resounding success, with attendees and participants experiencing an unforgettable evening of celebration, recognition and collaboration with colleagues and family members.
