Modern Foreign Languages

At Ellesmere Park High School, the MFL department is committed to delivering a curriculum that is both engaging and challenging to all students, regardless of their background, additional needs experience or social privilege.

Our key aims are:

  • To engage students at all levels and promote the love of learning a foreign language, whilst celebrating and supporting academic achievement and progress.
  • To engender the self-confidence needed to allow students to progress successfully in communicating in a foreign language for practical purposes.
  • To increase the level of linguistic and cognitive demand through each academic year and key stage.
  • For our students to be open-minded and adaptable to developing life-long linguistic skills including questioning, translating and fluency.
  • To equip students to become responsible, resilient world citizens who make a positive contribution and are mutually respectful in our multicultural society.
