Key Stage 3 Computing
Computer Science is the study of processes that interact with data and that can be represented as data in the form of programs. It enables the use of algorithms to manipulate, store and communicate digital information. Information technology is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data or information.
Computer Science
Computer Science is the study of how computers and digital systems work, how data is represented and processed, and how problems can be solved using computational thinking and programming. Through the OCR J277 GCSE Computer Science course, students develop a secure understanding of the key principles of computer systems, algorithms, programming, data representation, networks, cyber security, software, and the wider ethical, legal, cultural and environmental impacts of digital technology.
Business Studies
Business Studies explores how organisations are created, managed and developed in a changing world. It enables students to understand how businesses identify opportunities, meet customer needs, make decisions, manage resources and respond to competition. Through the study of Business, students learn how enterprise, marketing, finance, operations and human resources work together to help organisations succeed.
