About Consilium

Student Welfare

Our Pastoral Team is made up of skilled, dedicated and enthusiastic professionals with extensive experience of working with young people. Their priority is to ensure that every student feels safe, supported and valued throughout their time at the Academy.

A key aspect of our pastoral provision is identifying and supporting students who may be experiencing difficulties as early as possible. By providing timely and effective support, we aim to help students overcome challenges and thrive both personally and academically. Our team works closely with a range of professionals, including Social Care, health services and external mentoring organisations, attending multi-agency meetings where appropriate to ensure students receive the right support.

We recognise that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student wellbeing. Effective communication with parents and carers is therefore a key part of our approach. If you have any concerns about your child's welfare, wellbeing or progress, we encourage you to contact their Head of Year. Our pastoral team can offer advice, provide additional support within school, or, where appropriate, signpost and refer families to external agencies that can offer further assistance.

Working closely with teaching staff and the Senior Leadership Team, our Pastoral Team plays a central role in creating a safe, caring and inclusive school community. Together, we support students to meet the Academy's expectations, develop resilience and confidence, improve attendance where needed, and achieve their full potential.

What is Early Help?

Early Help is about providing the right support at the right time, before small concerns become bigger challenges. It is available to all children, young people and families who may benefit from some additional help.

Everyone who works with children and families has a role to play in identifying concerns and offering support. This includes schools, health professionals, youth services and many other organisations working together to improve outcomes for children and young people.

At Ellesmere Park, we are committed to working closely with families and partner agencies to ensure support is provided as early as possible. Where appropriate, we can help families access additional services and coordinate support to meet their individual needs. By working together, we aim to strengthen family wellbeing and help children and young people thrive, reducing the need for more specialist intervention in the future.

Thrive in Education (TiE)

Ellesmere Park is part of the Thrive in Education model which aims to support the emotional health and wellbeing of our students.

The Thrive in Education team provides advice, guidance and targeted support to help young people manage challenges, build resilience and develop positive emotional wellbeing. Working alongside our existing pastoral support, the team offers early help through one-to-one support, group sessions and therapeutic interventions when needed.

If your child is experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing, please speak to a member of our pastoral team to find out more about the support available.
